Guest guest
Sigh, Rogene, you burst my bubble. Watermellon DOES indeed have a lot of sugar in it. Probably why I like it so much. Well, it is also probably why the South Beach Diet has it as a 'no no' ... Okay, I will be good. Starting today - now that we have power. It seems I've started over a dozen times, but better to not give up. > > Unless I'm mistaken, watermelon has a lot of of sugar > in it. . . Guest guest
I think everyone is different. I have yeast issues and watermelon never posed a problem for me (organic). I ate alot of it for at least three weeks. But give me a candy bar and I can tell. Some people are sensitive fruits and some are not. But most people are sensitive to regular sugar. Guest guest
Kathy, I think what you are seeing is the difference between natural and refined sugar. . . You've been working on the yeast problem for so long, it shouldn't be a major problem for you any longer. Anyone who's having a lot of problems may want to leave watermelon alone for a while. Guest guest
Is watermelon a good CRON food? It seems to have lots of nutrients, but how about the calories? I am getting all kinds of different calorie counts. Like how much would a quarter of a medium sized melon be? I just love summer time coming around and enjoying watermelons and grape tomatoes. Two of my favorites :-)
Guest guest
Hi Melinda, http://gfcf-diet.talkaboutcuringautism.org/phenols-salicylates-additives.htm says " Feingold recommends to avoid phenolic fruits that are " colored fruits " . Watermelon is red, so that is a definite flag, cantaloupe is orange which is better. " The website was interesting. Hope that helps!
