DEADLINE IS JUNE 1ST

The ELA Foundation, Inc is pleased to announce that the deadline for

the ELA Scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year is June 1st.

Application information is available at www.ela.org under ELA

Scholarships.

The vision of the Ethel Louise Armstrong (ELA) Foundation, Inc. is to

Change the Face of Disability on the Planet. Our mission is to

promote, through grants and scholarships, the inclusion of people with

disabilities in the areas of arts, advocacy and education.

The ELA Scholarship program provides financial assistance from $500-

$2000 for women with physical disabilities who are in graduate school

allowing them to pursue their degree, and develop their leadership

role within the disability community.

The scholarship awards are based on merit. Each applicant will be

required to submit an application that includes the following: an

application form, college transcript, two letters of academic

recommendation, a disability verification form, and an essay.

The 2008 ELA Scholars will be notified of their award in August 2008.

The award is contingent upon the winner's acceptance to or

continuation in, an accredited university graduate program. The

scholarship will be made payable to the educational institution to be

credited towards tuition.

Thanks so much!! I wish I had found this sooner! I am busting my butt to try to

get this in by deadline... the hard part is going to be getting my teacher recs

on such short notice!
