Guest guest
I agree with what you said Vera. I also want to mention that we shouldn’t just assume that you won’t get insurance reimbursement and not submit the claims. I just assumed my insurance wouldn’t pay any of it. At the end of last year I spoke with our compounding pharmacist and he ran all our prescriptions through insurance-we had been paying cash/cc previously. They covered everything- we had a $40 or $25 co-pay. Covered B12, TD-glut, TD-DMPS, TD-ALA. I went back and submitted all the old Rx’s as well as labs: OAT, Urine metals, stool metals, RBC elements. For the labs they covered all of them 100%. I got reimburse for all the Rx’s except one that was not within the year that you have to submit. I realize that others aren’t as lucky as we are with insurance, but don’t assume they won’t like I did. I’m just glad I had that conversation with the pharmacist. Becky While it is easy to just blame the DANs and the insurance companies, they are not the ones who created the problem. Of course insurance companies are where we need to start, but if insurance companies started covering biomed, the costs would be immediately passed on to employers who would then pass it back on to the employees. We do not have a choice but to push for coverage -- but it is Pharma and the government who are responsible -- not Blue Cross. (I totally digressed).
