Guest guest
Hello. I have been all over the web trying to find the calories in sprouted almonds. I have come up with everything from 100 cal/ounce to 173 cal/ounce. Does anyone know anything more definitive? Thank you.
Guest guest
Hi Hergert: I don't see any reason why the number of calories after sprouting would be any different from those of the original nuts. Certainly some of the fat in the nuts will be turned into other nutrients, but energy cannot be created or destroyed ................ only converted to a different form. Correction please if I am missing something here. [Also, the amount of conversion will depend on how long the sprouts are left before consumption. A sprout that is just emerging from the nut will have had hardly any conversion at all. At the other end of the scale, when the sprout is huge much of the fat will have been converted. So having a single number for 'almond sprouts' for any measure is unrealistic, since the nutrient amounts/types will vary widely depending on how large the sprouts are at the time of measurement.] Rodney. > > Hello.
