Guest guest
I have trouble with each Levaquin, Macrobid, Cipro, Gent, Vanco, Septra, etc. They all make my neck and arms weak, some more than others, and they each offer their own flavor of body and/or intestinal discomfort. If they're a one-time-a-day med, I take it before bed so it doesn't matter if I'm weaker. When on Cipro I avoid dairy, tofu, soy milk and anything else with calcium or calcium- fortified. I try to avoid sugars when on antibiotics (this helps a lot), I eat over-cooked vegetables pureed into soups so I can digest them, and have more energy and a calmer stomach when I eat congee/jook and beef or chicken broths and miso. Probably most important is eating a complex probiotic. It comes in capsules which I cannot swallow, and in powder form that has no flavor. I sprinkle it onto food such as yogurt, rice, sandwiches...whatever isn't too hot...2 or 3 times a day.
