Guest guest
Lori: I have had no problem processing the dairy in Ensure. It is lactose free and 50% soy based. The plant based protein powder that I take with it gives me tons of energy. So, I guess you could say that I'm on a modified AAD, which works for me. Guest guest
That's interesting. My husband and I have never had troubles with dairy products. In fact, that's most of my diet. I love cheese and I drink milk like it's water. Guest guest
Also, my husband has an ulcer in his stomach so the doctor told us creamy things like milk, cream, dairy, are good for him because it soothes the ulcer. We both take Pulmocare. But I used to take Isocal. I switched just because my husband switched and it's easier to keep track of the same stuff. I don't use it for all my nutrition, just if I haven't eaten enough or haven't eaten enough nutritional stuff. Anyway, Pulmocare is supposed to be good for people with respiratory issues, but to be honest I don't notice any difference. Guest guest
The theory is that if you eliminate dairy and meat from your diet you may find that you have more energy to use for other activities. Without eliminating dairy/meat, you would not know if it may a difference in the amount of energy you could use for other activities. So, it's not that you have a problem with dairy/meat, it's that you may do better without them. Guest guest
Thanks, Vicki. I am giving this some thought. What is the name of the protein powder that you use? How much do you take per day/week? Thanks again. L ________________________________ From: " VickiLJurney@... Guest guest
While I have completely eliminated meat protein from my diet, I have personally found that the two cans of Ensure which I consume per day give me more energy than the three packets of Tolorex originally prescribed my doctor. In fact, Tolorex made me weaker and lose weight...as I cannot chew and swallow food. Now, keep in mind that 75% of my Amino Acid protein comes from the ProSource powder which I take with the Ensure or with juice. ProSource is not an animal based protein. Potassium chloride supplements also play a key role. Without potassium, I feel drained. The Ensure and juices give me the necessary carbs, too. It all works for me and keeps me working!
