Guest guest
I have now finished reading Walford's book (*Beyond*) and would like to inquire of list members if anyone has maintained what Walford calls a "lithe California body" while on a CRON regimen. The kind of weight loss he talks about (e.g., for himself, going down to 130 pounds) would seem to be impossible to reconcile with retaining significant muscular development, but the one research study he cites in this regard indicates the opposite -- that it's possible to lose only fat mass and not lean mass even when on a CRON diet. I've been on a loose 2k/day diet now for about three months and have lost, I think, only fat mass (I am male, 45, 6'1", and have gone from about 182 pounds to about 170 pounds). I actually think I have gained some muscle, since I can lift more now than I could a few months ago. If I go on rigorous CRON a year from now (I'm not in a hurry, having read Walford's recommendation to wait a while), having gone, say, up to 175 pounds by dropping another five pounds of fat and adding ten pounds of muscle, will I be able to maintain my "lithe California body"? Thanks for feedback. Tonight's top picks. What will you watch tonight? Preview the hottest shows on TV.
