Guest guest
Hi Homeboyx: Unfortunately I have been having trouble accessing any pdf documents the past couple of weeks. So I have not been able to read your link. But the issue here is not whether there is benefit from exercise among the general population. The question at issue is whether exercise provides benefit for ***people on CRON***. By benefit is meant: extended maximum lifespan in CRON individuals (lots of studies have found definitively no benefit of this kind); rectangularized survival curve in CRON individuals (I am not aware of any papers showing this, and I have linked one which demonstrated no such benefit); or other, perhaps less tangible, demonstrated benefits to health. [Most here, including me, will acknowledge a benefit from weight bearing exercise for prevention of osteoporosis; In addition I have often observed that if we expect to live to a great age it would also be nice to have: " enough strength to carry stuff around the house; enough endurance to play a full round of golf with a few favorite clubs, without a cart; enough flexibility to pick things up off the floor without thinking about it; and enough testosterone for whatever purpose we might need it for. " ] So, given the above, if you know of papers done by objective researchers which reported well controlled studies which found that exercise extended average or maximum lifespan in any mammal species ***maintained on a CRON diet***, please post them because most of us, including me, are not aware of them. Sincerely, if you were to provide an accessible reference, I would be eager to read any such study, and very likely pay attention to its findings if they were persuasive. (Bear in mind that the people associated with Aerobics are hardly an unbiased source for this kind of information, as has previously been discussed here.)
