Thank you, Amy! I didn't know it was on TV. I've always listened to

TAL on NPR either on the radio or streaming at the web site.

Wonderful portrayal of the different perspectives in this

situation...the young man with SMA, his brother, his mother, his

assistants, his girlfriend, and the interviewer. I wonder what ny

Depp thought. This piece really illustrates how technology has changed

options for significantly disabled people and how social policy is slow

to catch up. I like how it didn't make any of them inspiring heroes,

just people trying work through the situation they're in...the love,

their frustrations, their sometimes cross-purposes.
