Guest guest
It is clear to me that we as a community have to start looking for ways to get bills introduced into the states to repeal mandatory vaccine laws. Most people don't know it but most states never had such laws until the late seventies and early eighties. And we know how much healthy kids are now that way back in the bad old days of the 60s. It will be a long effort but if we don't there will be no end to the required shots. If there is a one in a million chance of dying from a vaccine, which seems completely reasonable from the FDA and CDC's own data if a child receives 100 vaccines and they are already getting more than 50 they would have a 1 in 10,000 chance of dying from a vaccine, that would be about 400 children a year figuring 4 million births per year. I am sure far more than that are dying of vaccine injuries now, but this is using the drug indutry's own approximate numbers. But this has got to stop. One advantage of the thimerosal battles is that it is bringing home how many legislators don't believe a word the drug industry says. We need to capitalize on that. Canada has a clause in it's consitution forbidding mandatory vaccines, they are also not required in the UK. And we don't need them here either. We shouldn't stop people who want them from geting them, but I'll be damned if I will every allow some drug industry shill from assaulting my child again. The drug industry is petrified of people losing confidence in the vaccine regime. They must have extensive polling data that shows many people are dubious already. why else would they insist on policies that even the Soviet Union rejected as unsafe? Think about it folks, think of the shock wave just one bill anywhere in the US would start. Gerberding and her thugs would soil themselves. They'd be foaming at the mouth. Armageddon would be upon us. Plaugue would be rampant. We need to find elcted officals sympathetic to us, and there are many of them, parents of young children who aren't vaccinating (like Tony Blair) Chiropractors, no-vaccinating religious demonimations, and just plain reasonalble people who can think for themselves. We can do this. > > " Writing in the journal Science, they recently called for a nationwide > study of vaccinating schoolchildren against conventional flu to see if > that controls widespread transmission ... > > The proposed nationwide study of immunizing schoolchildren against the > flu would help prepare for pandemic flu in another way, the scientists > said: Expanding the vaccinations would cause manufacturers to increase > production capacity and refine distribution channels " > > http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/ > 2002949744_fluscientists24m.html?syndication=rss >
Guest guest
, This is a great idea. I'll start organizing this here in Sacramento. There is a small, but growing group of parents around here that I could call on for support. Best of all, there's Lenny! We also have a local biomedical group here and I am friends with the moderator. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I planted the idea there as well. I've even got one of my kids teachers on our side. It'll take some work, but it will be well worth the effort. > > > > " Writing in the journal Science, they recently called for a > nationwide > > study of vaccinating schoolchildren against conventional flu to see > if > > that controls widespread transmission ... > > > > The proposed nationwide study of immunizing schoolchildren > against the > > flu would help prepare for pandemic flu in another way, the > scientists > > said: Expanding the vaccinations would cause manufacturers to > increase > > production capacity and refine distribution channels " > > > > http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/ > > 2002949744_fluscientists24m.html?syndication=rss > > >
Guest guest
, Thank you for posting this. It became abundantly clear to me at the last DAN conference that there remain a whole host of problems with vaccines well beyond the thimerosal issue. These problems aren't just with the ingredients either. They have to do with an evangelical and zealot pro-vaccine culture and mentality that is increasingly willing to violate basic human rights - a few of which are right to informed consent for medical treatment, right to autonomy, right to choose to refuse medical treatment, and right to refuse to be included in human experiments. This situation has bothered me a great deal ever since I put the story together after my son was injured regarding the lack of safety testing and complete absence of long-term clinical outcome studies of individual vaccines and more importantly, vaccines administered in combination. I heard a chilling story at the DAN conference -- recently, a mother had her 4 mo baby in for a well-baby visit and had decided she didn't want the baby vaccinated because the baby had been sick the week before. The pediatrician began arguing with the mother that it was safe to vaccinate the baby and while they were arguing, the nurse vaccinated the baby. The baby died in the office 15 minutes later. For all sorts of reasons, I have not been able to get that story out of my head. It is such an afront on so many levels the problem with that story is knowing where to begin. It's pretty scary what's going on. Way too many people have taken leave of their senses. I worry that things could get so out of hand someday that we really and truly could lose some of the civil rights that we all have taken for granted. Guest guest
Hi Vicky, We already have lost those civil rights. We have to fight to regain them. There are more than 400 vaccine under development by an industry that can set its own price, use the police power of the state to force unwilling people to use their product and then have no liability whatsoever for the quite predictable injuries done, often to our youngest and most vulnerable citizens. It must stop. > > > > > > " Writing in the journal Science, they recently called for a > > nationwide > > > study of vaccinating schoolchildren against conventional flu to see > > if > > > that controls widespread transmission ... > > > > > > The proposed nationwide study of immunizing schoolchildren > > against the > > > flu would help prepare for pandemic flu in another way, the > > scientists > > > said: Expanding the vaccinations would cause manufacturers to > > increase > > > production capacity and refine distribution channels " > > > > > > http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/ > > > 2002949744_fluscientists24m.html?syndication=rss > > > > > >
Guest guest
Homeschoolers would be a good group to get involved as well. They would increase your advocacy power a lot I suspect. Of course, parents who homeschool don't have to deal with the exemptions as much with public schools, unless they want to use their services, but it is often a concern when the kids go off to college and need to show proof of immunization. Guest guest
Some intelligent candidates out there (perhaps running against pro-vaccine mandate nuts) would hopefully make this a central issue in some campaigns. This should have huge legs. Guest guest
Fantastic idea. Informed consent for all medical care should be the order of the day. No more vaccine Nazis. Get rid of the mandates. In support, cite the Japanese statistics on child mortality rate (first/lowest in world) and their rather sane, common sense approach to vaccines (reference King posts) and our vaxed up kids (first in the world in vaccines, 42nd in the world in child mortality). Guest guest
Fire your pediatrician. Go find someone else! The pediatricians who have any sense will realize what's going on and will respond. Those that don't will simply pay much lower taxes. Force them to respond. It's your child. Re: Vaccinating all schoolkids could prevent flu pandemic , Thank you for posting this. Guest guest
where is the evidence that Tony Blair is not vaccinating? The May issue of Vanity Fair is a special " green issue. " (Bobby Kennedy's on the cover, by the way.) One of the articles - " The Rape of Appalachia " is particularly disturbing. This is (no surprise) a story of greed, unchecked power and dominance, and blatant disregard for the effect one company's actions are having on the people in this region. It's an all-too-common occurrence. What struck me about this particular situation, however, is that even the state officials in West Virginia seem unable to stop the devastation. ( " The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection issued 4,268 citations to Massey [Energy] between 2000 and 2005. " ) " THE RAPE OF APPALACHIA Hilltop by hilltop, coal giants such as Massey Energy Company are decapitating Appalachia's historic mountains. In the blast-scarred Coal River Valley, where a few brave souls are fighting for their land, Shnayerson learns about Massey's C.E.O.—and his powerful friends in government. " http://www.vanityfair.com/ (Sorry, I don't have a link to the full article.) In his article, Shnayerson details the devastating effects of aggressive mountaintop coal mining both on the land and the people of West Virginia. Here are a few excerpts: You're getting the clouds of coal, " says Kenny Pettry [resident], " plus all the chemicals they're using to clean it with. " --- Bob Cole's son Davy has chronic stomachaches that get him sent home routinely, but his parents never get them. " They've had as few as four or five kids in a class, the rest out with diarrhea and vomiting, " Cole says. " In the middle of the day they throw up. " Carolyn Beckner's daughter Brittany has such bad stomachaches that she asks her mother nightly to pray for her stomach to feel better. _____ Sound familiar?
