Guest guest
's comment on " Autism Every Day " sums it up perfectly for me. " Unbelievable. Someone has captured autism in 13 minutes. Someone has shown what autism is all about I am so grateful. I am so thankful. This is the best mothers day gift to me ever... " I know some here with glasses half empty are thinking that it didn't go far enough, that it should have included this, that or the other. I disagree. This amazing piece achieved what it wanted to accomplish: put a human face on autism. When I report this in tomorrow's edition of the SAR, I will add only these words: " In the time it took to watch this presentation, more than one child in the United States has been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder " If you would like to express your appreciation to Bob and Autism Speaks, here is an opportunity to do so directly. The purpose of this note is to comment on " Autism Every Day " and to segue into an announcement the joining of our list Mr. Bob , himself. For those of you who have just returned from Mars, Bob is the cofounder of Autism Speaks, as well as the head of NBC and VP of General Electric. What brings him here ultimately is that he is the grandfather of a child with autism. He mentioned in a note to the host that his daughter likes this list and suggested he join. To be honest, I didn't know was already here, so this is to welcome her, too. Needless to say, this makes it a bit probematic to talk behind their backs -- not that we do that very much here. If anyone really has something cranky to say, take a page out of Don Imus's book and say it while acting funny. -- for example, just like this swipe I just took at Don Imus. Welcome to our gathering, Mr. and ! Lenny Izak's dad EOHarm list host.
