Dear Members,

I try not to get involved in politics but the blather of some

postings are wasting my time and causing stress. I managed seven

medical listservers in the psychiatric field before I working so I

speak from a solid background.

Bravo to the " old timers " who took the time to help others.

" Support " has many interpretations. There can be informational

support, emotional support as it relates to encouraging others to

stick with the program. As far as that support, there are no stupid

question. As I understand this site, this is the support that's

intended. I assume it does NOT include support for out of control

egos and those with emotional problems, or those immature individuals

who would rather post a question because they are too lazy to read

the website or research past postings.

Everyone who visits this site has been devastated by disease. We are

all in our own hell. We have our own woes to deal with. No one's

pain isn't more important than anyone else's. But if you are looking

for support for your emotional abberations, perhaps you need to look

somewhere else.

I have been spammed by some individual who is bent on competing with

this site. To that individual, all I can say is stop contacting me

and SHAME on you. You do not know how to behave and turning pain and

hardship into a competition is sick. Get help.

The fact that this " Tena " person sent a nasty email should get her

barred. All " threatening " emails should be turned over to the

internet division of the FBI.

The information I have found on this site has been tremendously

helpful. Most people are genuine. I salute you for your dignity and

courage. Thank you for all your efforts. I truly believe together

we can accomplish something.

With the year ending, I just wanted to thank the founders and

moderators of the list for doing such a good job this year. Thanks so

much for your work with the group.

On behalf of the moderators, we appreciate your sentiments.

It’s not always easy to moderate a list; especially one with almost 3000 members. And there is no compensation for the time we put in; only the nice feeling that things are running smoothly. There are occasional complaints from members (such as why a post didn’t make it to the board, for example). And as with any large group there are far more complaints than appreciation, or people volunteering to help with the job of keeping this list one of high quality health information.

We are fallible, and mere mortals who must make decisions based on the rules set up here, and our own judgment. (That’s why there are three moderators, not just one.)

In spite of individual gripes by the very few, the group continues to grow and flourish which is a testament to all the members here who post high quality information.

Happy New year to all and long healthy lives!!
