Guest guest
I wish they allowed us to have it here, my husband met a man with ms at the pharmacy who was bed ridden for 9 years, after a year of having his stem cell injections he was walking and driving again. I looked into it and the told me I could have it done in the Bahamas but I don't have the 30k to pay for it. Guest guest
I am gathering more info about the treatment from my friends, relatives and SMA friends in China. If the stem cell really help to regenerate some nerve cell so that our kids can continue to develop their development more normally, I would let my son have a try soon. I am not looking for a cure but 10% or 20% improvement. I wish that it would be an organized and controled trial just like the normal clinic trial.:-) I wish there are a group of people working together: raise some money to fund more people to have a trial together and to document their progress so that their experience can benefit more to other future SMAers. I can help to communicate with china and to get the price down. Any suggestion? You are more than welcomed to contact me in person. Guest guest
I fully endorse your views but you said you are not looking for cure but 10%, 20% improvement. Dont you think that if its not fully cured it will again start degenerating the muscles and the improvements will for couple of months? Guest guest
Degenerate again? very possible. Everybody is aging, very slowly degenerating. But what if after the treatment, they might have more to lose? less hospitalization? delayed surgeries, better quality of life? My son is weak type II, if someone tell me that now he is strong type II or even better type III, would I be excited? of course. Think about how much it cost to have just one hospitalization and how much we invest for our current drug development. Will there be one effective drug available in the very near future? very hard. But our kids can't wait that long, they will soon pass their growth period. Guest guest
Years ago a number of people I knew went over seas to get experimental medical treatments that were at best a waste of money and energy, or made their health worse for the efforts. Sometimes it's safer to wait {when possible} for the treatment to get perfected before volunteering yourself. > > Hi, members, > > You can visit his blog about a 4-year-old boy who recently had stem cell treatment in China here: http://stemcellschina.com/blog/brandonm/ > > regards, > > > > > > >
