Guest guest
Yes we list Calorie King (along with other programs) in a folder called “IMPROVING YOUR CRON PROGRAM” and then the file: “Nutrient Tracking Programs”. I hope people are reading the files. A lot of work has been put into them (for everyone’s benefit). I'm new to CR longevity ideas, tho I am a vegan following the Fuhrman/Barnard/ Esselstyn/MacDougall/ China Study recommendations for keeping to a very low fat plant-based diet for health and disease prevention. Some higherfat whole foods, flax, occasional avodado and nuts are added in to balance vitamines and omega fatty acids, and I take a b12 suppliment. I have been reading the " 120 Year Diet " book with great interest, as it jives well with what I've already learned and experienced so far. One tool that has been extremely helpful with keeping track of fat protien and calories is a small program that runs on my Palm PDA http://www.calorieking.com/software/ You can enter single ingredients, identify servings, save groups of ingredients making up your own recipes, and access a huge database of prepared foods, whole foods and even restaurant menus. In setting up your profile, you can dictate how many calories/ fat/ protien grams you wish to consume a day, to loose, gain or maintain weight. When foods are added as you eat during the day it tells you how many calories etc you have consumed, and how many you have left. There are varied ways of entering portion measurements, as for apples, peeled, raw, diced by volume, or whole by size, etc. Even a math-futz like me has no trouble seeing that I had a little too much trail mix with breakfast this morning, and should lean toward salad or a low-fat smoothie for lunch. Glad to know there are other people here that want to spend a long, joyous, healthy time on earth! lc carol
