Guest guest
Lori, do you know when you are aspirating? Does it feel like choking? I used to only eat once a day and not much at that meal because it was too tiring to chew, but then I discovered the vitamix blender & it totally changed my eating life. it is so easy to throw any and all food in there including fresh fruit and veges and make the perfect smoothie for every meal. ;-) they are expensive but you can buy them refurbished cheaper and just as good with a 7-10 yr warranty. Guest guest
The silent aspirations are what I am most concerned about because it is happening throughout the day and I end up having fluid at the bottom of my left lung all day so I am at increased risk for an infection. I only ask for help suctioning at work if I am struggling to breathe. At home helps me whenever I need to clear the secretions. ________________________________ From: <nicoleroberts@...> " " < > Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2008 9:09:59 PM Subject: Re: Re: Ok, another swallowing question...Update...Revised Lori, do you know when you are aspirating? Guest guest
That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. From: Doug <doug696@...> Subject: Re: Ok, another swallowing question...Update...Revised Date: Sunday, December 14, 2008, 4:35 PM Would you all be interested in the swallowing exercises the speech pathologist gave me and my Mother to try (she has severe dysphagia from some unknown cause as of yet)? Guest guest
Before I had the swallow study, I asked the speech therapist if there were any exercise that would help. She said that she could not recommend a particular exersice without a swallow study because she wouldn't know the exact mechanism that was malfunctioning. ________________________________ From: Amy <blueyedaze@...> Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2008 6:40:44 PM Subject: Re: Re: Ok, another swallowing question...Update...Revised I would be!
