Guest guest
There was a video associated with the story. I hope that you did not miss it. The link was very inconspicuous. http://www.aarpmagazine.org/lifestyle/living_healthy_to_100_secrets_and_video.ht\ ml Some of the things about diet that I thought were interesting: Calcium sources: - Well water drawn from the limestone bedrock beneath her house. I think that the kind of water that you drink can have a major impact on our body. The water that we usually drink tastes sweet and does not contain a lot of minerals. Mineral water may be better for longevity. Another calcium source: - Corn tortillas made with corn soaked overnight with slaked lime (traditional method): " From an earthen pot she scooped out grayish corn that had been soaking in lime hydrate overnight, rinsed the kernels, and ground them into dough. She patted out tortillas and roasted them over the open fire. " Foods: Beans seasoned with garlic and onions. Eggs fried in lard: " She melted a dollop of lard on an iron griddle and fried eggs. " " A bowl of bananas and papayas " " slices of fresh cheese " - this is sold as " queso fresco " in the Latin American food section of U.S. supermarkets They probably also eat chickens from time-to-time, rather than just the eggs. Since they have lard, pork is probably on the menu too. How about CR? It is economically enforced: " I had no money to buy food. " Take a look at the video. You can get a perspective about portion sizes, environmental conditions, and the type of physical activity associated with longevity.
