A native Chinese co-worker of mine says he will purchase NO foodstuffs produces in China, and is very leery of those labeled from Thailand or ines. Common practice for Chinese companies to ship to these countries first, and relable cans and packages. The last time I ate such, it had a slight "taste" like formaldehyde, and made me sick for 3 days. I complained to the owner, a high class place, and I have not been back since. The next restaurant I attended had the same frozen stuff, on special. I asked for whatever they had that wasn't prepackaged frozen and got rare prime rib. It was rare all right but it didn't make me sick. Many restaurants are serving this stuff - even my local BBQ place has added hamburgers.
