Hi folks:

LOL. Sounds to me like sour grapes written by someone who only wishes he could successfully implement CRON in his own life!

We all know lighter people put less stress on bones and so have a lower DXA score. But apart from that, does anyone here suffer any of the "bone and muscle wasting, fatigue, constipation, dizziness and other signs of poor health" referred to. ????

I suffer none of these. If others on CRON here do, let's hear about it. And I have been absolutely startled at how my biomarkers have improved beyond my wildest expectations, even starting after age 60. BP, cholesterols, triglycerides, glucose, WBC, ..... And CRP and fasting insulin (important biomarkers of both longevity and cancer risk) below the low end of the scale used here. Those were so good the lab had to re-do the tests on a spare blood sample because they thought they must have made a mistake.

Of course everyone is entitled to make their own decisions about whether or not to pursue CRON.

From what I have seen from my own experience, forget all the science about it, it's a 'no-brainer'.

Hi Rodney,

I Suppose that if taken to an excessive limit that the below

mentioned effects would/could occur. And I can think of at least one

individual of this group that has probably experienced some of these

symptoms. (I'm not naming any names though.) As most of this group

knows, excessive CR can be harmful, but of course that is NOT what is

recommended by this group.

On a personal note though, by limiting calories to less than 2000 per

day and getting ample exercise, my blood glucose has gone from the

slightly diabetic range to a normal range in only the last four

days. Don't know which factor (CR or exercise) was more beneficial

(would guess the CR) but plan on doing both from now on.
