Guest guest
Hi folks: I don't know if this link will work: http://www.who.int/infobase/compare.aspx?dm=10 & countries=124%2c156% 2c356%2c826%2c674%2c20%2c840%2c392%2c250 & year=2002 & sf1=mo.cg.104 & sex=1 http://snipurl.com/2yzew But it is a comparison of CVD rates in various countries including India. The HUMUNGOUS problem India has with CVD is obvious - double the rates of North America. So a low indian cancer rate may just mean most people are dead from CVD long before they reach an age at which they have a significant risk of cancer. Rodney. Guest guest
A country of large population that spends 100$ per capita on health care is not comparable with advanced countries. First I suspect they don't get all the data. Life expectancy is 62. The term heart failure is a catchall. They have a major problem with a group identified as "chronic diseases". http://www.who.int/whosis/mort/profiles/mort_searo_ind_india.pdf causes of death: shows ischemic heart disease as 15%? We were discussing curry and dementia - so how many reach say 80 yo, and if they ALL ate lotsa curry, what difference? We don't have the millions in the rest of the set. Splitting hairs. The data is presented to show what they wanted to show. Like, why wouldn't the lower incidence of dementia (or cancer) be due to not eating meat?
