Older practitioners should be especially careful about restricting too much. Dr W. explains in his book that severe restriction in older rats caused them to die sooner than average. See our files for the full discussion. Also see the file “Dr Walford’s posts” in which Dr W theorizes that his illness may have been caused by severe restriction in the biosphere at the age of 67.
