Our files are chock full of ideas. Read all our files especially the ones that describe what many of us eat.

Personally, I eat steel cut oatmeal (the quick cooking kind) just about every morning. Every once in a while I have a whole wheat mini-bagel (Trader Joe’s sells them by the bag) for a special treat with a bit of margerine. Generally I also have a piece of fruit either alone or on my oatmeal.

Canned salmon, tuna, etc instead of eggs or other protein for breakfast is fine.

my query is what can we eat for breakfast that is suitable for a child with food allergies (nuts, egg, milk)

I have found that fruit just doesn't give them enough energy to get through the day.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Personally, I also eat steel cut oatmeal most breakfasts, however, I add quinoa, oat bran and millet to my oatmeal blend. Also add two tablespoons of ground flax seed after cooking the oatmeal mixture and use soy milk rather than regular milk (I do add fresh fruit and walnuts to my bowl which you would not be able to do because of your allergies). Another idea that I eat on occasions is slice of sprouted grain toast with mixed greens, salsa and sardines. I spread hummus on the toast rather than butter, etc. Hope this helps!
