As I said, I prefer to get my nutrients from food. But I have many other reasons for eating meat on occasion (and eating it rarely enough that it’s not worth all this discussion).

I have already outlined all my reasons.

Subject: B12 can only be found in meat? Re: [ ] Re: vegetarianism

yes it is true. is this the reason you eating meat occasionally? are

you getting enough B12, are you getting the RDA or DRI? are you eating

enough meat to reach this recommened levels or would a B12 supplement

be the better choice considering the sat fat and cholesterol in meat

that you would also consume?

Perhaps I am missing the point here..

Yes, this list is " evidence " based and we look for the evidence to

support our decisions and discussions on the list.

But, some of our personal decisions and how we incorporate the evidence

into our lives, are also based on preference, taste, habit, culture,

environment, circumstance, social etc

One thing we do know, that seems pretty evidence bases is that no one

died early from an occasional indulgence, regardless of the reason.

Bill I think you are posing a question that no one has any interest in. I fail to see any great B12 superiority to eating a fish over a chicken. To get the required amount of B12 the amount needed is very small. I suggest this youtube video for your viewing pleasure:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmK0bZl4ILMPositive DennisFrom: bill4cr <bill4cr@...>To:

Someone PM'd me and ask that i post the B12 content of fish vs fowl.

100 grams of chicken =0.3 mcgs

http://www.nutritio ndata.com/ facts/poultry- products/ 703/2

100 grams of fish (cod)=1.0 mcgs

http://www.nutritio ndata.com/ facts/finfish- and-shellfish- products/ 4214/2

Yes you gave 'reasons' for eating fowl very occasionally but none of

them were evidence backed. As asked before but not answered what in

fowl do you need but can't get from fish for example? And how does

eating it very occasionally provide enough of it?

Thanks Jeff for weighing in.

In fact, I mentioned trying to avoid becoming obsessive about food as being

one of my reasons. And IMHO relentless questioning about this despite

repeated, detailed responses is obsessive.
