Guest guest
I am a dietitian working in Austin with bariatric patients. I work for Dr. Ganta. There is another group of surgeons in Austin called Southwest Bariatric Surgeons as well. Our offices are right down the hall from each other. Dr. Ganta would be happy to take on your patient's care when she moves to Austin. In addition, there are many support groups in the Austin area. Two of our hospitals hold monthly meetings that welcome patients, their families, and friends. They are St. s Medical Center and Seton Medical Center. Both are located in Central Austin. For support group dates and times your patient can call the hospital bariatric center directly. For Seton the contact is (512-324-3404). For St. s the contact is Debby (512-867-5433). There is also a local online group called CenTex Bandsters through . They also have monthly meetings and are a very friendly group. However, their groups do not have a nurse or surgeon present. If your patient would like to get aquainted with a surgeon for follow-up care here in Austin please have her call the Austin Institute of Bariatrics and Laparoscopy at 512-257-2425. I hope this helps. > > Hello all! > > I have a lap band patient that moved to Austin, TX who is looking for a > support group to attend in the area. She keeps a blog (CRON Diary) -- http://crdiary.blogspot.com/ She is a long-time CR practitioner and can probably provide the information that you need. You may try to reach her through her blog, or she may be in the Austin, Texas phone book.
