Guest guest
Yes I too have read “Omnivore” and have recommended it here; but it’s a book and “Food” being a movie, means that the latter will reach many more people, since a commitment of an hour and 1/2 vs a few days of book reading is involved. It’s nominated for an academy award whick will generate publicity for the movie whereas many people just won’t sit down and read a book about food, no matter how good that book may be (present company excepted of course). I have never heard of “Monsanto” and couldn’t find it either as a book title on Amazon or a movie on Netflix. But the movie “Food, Inc.” has told me all I need to know about Monsanto. For those who have Netflix, last I checked you can watch " Food, Inc. " instantly. I also highly recommend " The World According to Monsanto " (original title: Le Monde Selon Monsanto), which reviews Monsanto's influence on agriculture and so much of what ends up on our plates. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- A. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- > > I just finished watching this powerful documentary which has been nominated > for an academy award.
