Guest guest
I know that several persons on this list are supplementing with Vitamin D and also measuring their blood levels of 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D. I took 2,000 IU of Vitamin D3 for about a year, and never achieved 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D blood levels above approximately 30 ng/ml. My goal was to raise my blood 25-OH-D levels to at least 50 ng/ml. I finally reached that level, but only after I raised my level of Vit D3 supplementation to 5,000 IU. I just got the blood test results this week, and my Vit D level was 51 ng/ml. The lab that did the testing was LabCorp, which uses the Diasorin method. Both LabCorp and the Diasorin method are known to be quite accurate with respect to Vitamin D test results. I find the Vitamin D newsletter, from the Vitamin D Council to be very informative http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/ Bob
