Guest guest
Speaks louder than... research specifically to the vaccine/mercury connection...At the last minute this was taken out of consideration and the HELP committee refused to put it back in. This is an unmistakable indication that those who would control the purse strings will not let this research happen. I'm not sure why anyone expected, or is shocked that the language in the Combating Autism Act was taken out of consideration at the last minute for research specifically to the vaccine/mercury connection? The reality of the situation is that Eli Lilly will always be protected from the systematic mercury poisoning of a generation of children...for God's sakes, after leaving the CIA in 1977, H.W. Bush served as Corporate Director of Eli Lilly appointed by none other than Dan Quayle’s father, who owned controlling interest in the Lilly Company. Vague promises?...the Combating Autism Act is mastering the politics of deception! http://tinyurl.com/jrqaq http://tinyurl.com/rx7h2 http://tinyurl.com/n5w6o http://tinyurl.com/h8xfd July 19, 2006 Frist Praises Approval Of Combating Autism Act http://tinyurl.com/qnewm http://tinyurl.com/jh665 (this does give an explaination for Frist (wearing a Autism Speaks pin) doing an autism public relations op on their website, I've always wondered, now I don't) http://tinyurl.com/gjrx6 (last picture on the page) another autism public relations op on their website... http://tinyurl.com/osbvn Consider the special servicing he gave to pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. In another example of his "patriotism," Frist engineered the insertion into the Homeland Security bill of a provision that would protect Eli Lilly from lawsuits over Thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative used in its vaccines...The Frist-authored rider shields Lilly by forcing those lawsuits into a special "vaccine court," where they can be easily scuttled, potentially saving Lilly hundreds of millions. http://tinyurl.com/htbp3 During the original final debates on the Homeland Security Bill, Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) had argued forcefully for granting liability protection to makers of mercury based vaccine preservatives and said such measures were needed to boost an industry essential for public health. http://tinyurl.com/gkvg2 Web Site Seeks ID for 'Lilly Bandit' ...Major suspects include Sen. Bill Frist... http://tinyurl.com/gqt2c ...and physician-turned-senator-turned-drug-company-shill Bill Frist, who had originally penned the Lilly-friendly provision for a different bill. http://tinyurl.com/gvp7b 05/08/06 Vaccine makers helped write Frist-backed shield law E-mails reveal private meetings http://tinyurl.com/f55m6 Eli Lilly's Political Contributions http://tinyurl.com/m6u4n Frist is author of a bill to protect vaccine makers from lawsuits over vaccine preservatives...Lilly boosted the sales of Frist's book on bioterrorism published after Sept. 11, 2001, by buying 5,000 copies and distributing them to doctors around the country. Frist's spokesman said Lilly's promotion of the book did not affect the company's relationship with the senator. As the head of the political committee to elect Republican senators, Frist was heavily involved in fund raising and Lilly has been a top Republican donor...Of the at least $1.68 million the company and its employees gave in federal campaign contributions for this year's elections, $226,250 went to the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee that Frist had led. That's about $100,000 more than Eli Lilly contributed to the Democratic counterpart group. That there is any resistance to looking into the vaccine/mercury connection to autism is reason alone to insist that it stay in. Whatare they afraid of?For all the hundreds of millions of dollars spent already on autismresearch funded by the CDC, the NIH, CAN, AS/NAAR, they have producedalmost nothing that can benefit our children now, or that would be athreat to the autism epidemic perpetrators. There is nothing in theCAA that would indicate we will not get $1 billion more of the same. "Trust us" is not good enough. Our children deserve better protectionfrom the negligent practices of government public health agencies andvague promises off the record that they'll look into it -- and that isall that's in the CAA, vague promises.A-CHAMP is not trying to convince other organizations to not endorsethe measure, they are just not wasting anymore time supporting it.Lenny ..
