Guest guest
I have been on this list for years although I have not posted in a very long time, mostly because I found CRON life a little too difficult to maintain. However I have still read the posts and found this information extremely helpful in living a healthy life-style, if not CRONly. The reason I posted and went through the hassel of setting up a account (did not have one) is to pipe in about NOT talking politics here. I understand there are political issues that get us all worked up but they belong elsewhere. So while I am here, let me at least state where I am in my life Started CRON in May 2001 in very good physical shape (went to the gym 5 days a week) at 190 lbs (5 foot 9 inch Male, then 38 years old. I have a wife and 2 daughters, now teenagers. In 2 years I went down to 165 lbs and was is great shape even dropping gym visits to biweekly. Due to a short illness with my wife I started drifting away from CRON and paid for it with increased weight, however I still maintained very good eating habits if eating too many calories. A year ago I went for a physical at 220 lbs and was told to start exercising and losing weight. Today I exercise daily (cardio and weights) and have trimmed to 210 lbs with a much higher muscle mass than fat. While this is not really at CRON weight (I have read Dr. Walford's books numerous times) it is where I am happy with myself and feel good! There is still fat to lose but I feel I am on track again. Since I have been using the CRON idea's for almost 10 years, I thought another story may actually be of interest here. Perhaps realistic of trying to make this work while raising a family. However, there is one very important thing that has occurred in the past 10 years making all this worthwhile. My daughters are at excellent weight's for their age (at the lower end of the range mid you) and have excellent eating habits. They prefer real food rather than processes, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. They do eat snacks and other things but the basics of proper nutrition and healthy living has been instilled in them early, mostly due to things I have learned from Dr. Walford's books and tips from this list. Keep up the good work, thanks for the many years!
