Whoa! Why the hostility? (Perhaps you’re confusing us with a different forum.)

I’m the one who said “our” Jeff because Jeff is one of our most knowledgeable members. So if you want an argument, take it up with me, but let’s do it “off list”. We don’t talk that way to each other that way in this group.

" Our Jeff " ?

Take a stand for smthtg Jeff. You say you don't recommend a

vegetarian or VEGAN diet but you'd never eat pork, beef, ham, egggs

or chicken??

The only other animal is a fish. Does eating 3 ounces of FISH once a

month count as an omnivore? just curious.

Take a stand, jeff. What DO you eat?

>>>Take a stand for smthtg Jeff.

Labels do more harm than good. I have seen my views change (or should

i say increase in understanding) many times over the years.

Besides, there is many ways to peel a potato. :)

As I have said many times, vegan and or vegetarian are not guidelines to

optimal health, wellness and longevity. They are philosophies that

include dietary restrictions, not recommendations. They only tell you

what someone does not do, not what they do do.

However, in regard to CR, which I do strongly support, there is no one

" CR " diet as there are many ways to apply the principles. We see that

here. If someone can acheive the goals and wants to eat fish, the more

power to them. If someone can achieve the goals and be a vegan, more

power to them. (BTW, in case you missed it, i often do post

discussions to help clarify many of the misunderstandings of

vegan/vegetarian diets. )

So, because our approaches of how we may apply the principles may

differ, does that mean that one of us is not taking a " stand " for CR?

To me, it is for me to tell you, or anyone how to live, even if you were

my patient.

Regardless of my own personal lifestyle, my goal is to help people reach

their goals and maximize their health/longevity the best they can within

the framework they choose. Some may choose to be a vegan and I will help

them optimize that. Some may choose not to, and I will also help them

optimize that.

A health professional should not let their own personal beliefs and

philosophies " limit " their professional work. I am a scientist not an

evangelist.

Jeff

oops, correction....

I said...

>>> " To me, it is for me to tell you, or anyone how to live, even if you

were

my patient. "

This should have said

" To me, it is NOT for me to tell you, or anyone how to live, even if you

were

my patient. "

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff has said he is an avowed vegetarian, and I believe him.

He's also one of the smartest nutritionists I've talked to.

And he has a practice.

His statement is correct but most cannot afford the fruit.

If a gorilla eats nothing but fruit (25#), and a few branches, why can't we? (honest question)

I'm not a vegetarian because I was not raised as one, and I do not have that frame.
