Flushing and bacteria

A few months ago Tony posted about seeing a TV program which discussed the

repercussions of flushing the toilet and leaving the lid up. The spray,

invisible to the naked eye, lands on your drinking cup, toothbrush and any

other items lying around the bathroom.

At the time Tony posted this, and said he was going to close the lid from

then on, I remember poo-pooing the whole thing. However today I watched the

new Dr Oz show in which he cultured out what was growing on a toothbrush and

cup after a flush with an open lid. It wasn't pretty.

Mea Culpa Tony; I'm closing the lid from now on.
