Guest guest
I crept out from under my rock just long enough to read my e-mail.....thanks to all of you I decided not to go back! I spent a couple of hours " thinking good thoughts " and making a list of all the things Tanner can do. He knows his alphabet, he knows his numbers, he knows his colors (I don't know many 1.9 year olds who know that!) He knows every single word to every single video that he likes. Caitlin's favorite part of the day is when Tanner gets home from school. He has made me a more compassionate person (although my patience is sometimes " severely delayed " !) Jacqui...in the spirit of being a fellow southern Californian (I think we've both been here long enough to qualify as natives), I took you up on your dare. Lit a candle, took a deep cleansing breath, and torched that damn evaluation. Felt remarkably better! Whenever we decide to have our first conference, I have an idea for the first night. We shall build a big bonfire (preferably on the beach in some fabulous locale) and we'll have a ritual burning of negative evaluations, stupid IEPs, inaccurate reports from " professionals " , etc. etc. I think I should throw in a disclaimer here for those of you who do not yet have a formal evaluation. I'm still satisfied with the doctors we saw at UCLA. I just wish I had listened to myself about the cognitive evaluation. I think I'll get a tattoo on my right hand..... " Trust Thy Instincts " Thank you all, Jill
