Hi all,

I've been wrapped up in school politics for a while and hibernating. I'm

back to the real world now, I hope, and was 34 when was born, 13

years ago. That's more then I care to add together.

's been back to school now for the last month after being out since

Christmas and things are actually going well. It's amazing the difference a

school can make. We had an IEP Thursday and it only lasted 45 minutes and

everyone came away happy, even me. Especially, knowing it was about

behavior. They're starting to get it, that we don't punish for everything.

They're finally listening and trying to identify what's causing the problems

and actually seeing their are causes, knowing he's Autistic. I'm so glad we

have different placement and all new players now.

As for the physical abuse has suffered in his last school, and the

district's determination that the teacher did nothing wrong by throwing my

child around the room screaming at him, and that they feel such empathy for

me as the parent to have such a severley disabled child, well, now it's their

turn to agonize. We're going to court and suit has been filed against them.

Working for them is not easy and they have found ways to make my life

miserable doing my job (one on one aide with an Autistic child). At that same

old school. I'm now looked at as parent advocate, not employee, and

whenever the parent of this child rebels, they take it out on me. Fun fun...

As if I don't have enough stress. Well, after I get the emotion out of it, I

usually get angry enough to fight back and have said my mind on a few recent

occasions. Isn't Buspar great!!!! I saw a funny commercial about it the

other day. It said " The difference between wanting to hit someone and

actually doing it, is Buspar " . Their right!!
