Since CR has been known to contribute to low bone density, this may

be of interest to those taking Forteo for osteoporosis.

Bisphosphonates are routinely prescribed after completing Forteo, in

order to avoid losing the gains made while on Forteo. But many

people have serious concerns about the long-term safety of

bisphosphonates. A recent study " Effect of Strontium Ranelate on

Lumbar Spine Bone Mineral Density in Women with Established

Osteoporosis Previously Treated with Teriparatide "

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19204890

indicates that strontium ranelate (available in Canada, Europe, etc.)

is also effective after Forteo.
