Maddie doesn't do the toy thing either. She'll attend to one if someone sits

with her, but never for long. And if you just hand her one, she won't use it

appropriately. She'll dangle it or rock it back and forth on the floor.

No imaginative play whatsoever. She'll kiss a baby doll, after we model that

for her first, but if you just hand her the doll, she will dangle it, then

throw it. Her favorite thing is a ball, which she'll dribble 24/7---but with

her thumb, two fingers or chin. Then the next favorite thing is a shoe,

which is dangled incessantly by the laces. For her 3rd birthday, I went

crazy and bought her all these presents. She was screaming like a banshee

and carrying on. The babysitter had wrapped up one of her shoes as a joke.

We all roared when we opened it for her, but guess what? She stopped

screamed, took her shoe and walked away. LOL

P.S. Most kids sleep with a stuffed animal or favorite blankey. Maddie

sleeps with a basketball, shoe and her Barnie. LOL

LOL Donna! LOL I swear that you're writing about Seth! Unreal! He has

screamed through every birthday he has had! I will try the shoe thing for

his 5th! Maybe it will be the first time he has a good time at his *party* !

he actually sleeps on it. i kinda of likeit due to if we roll up the head of

his bed he slides down etc, this way his head is elevated and he desnt slide

anywhere. shawna.
