I just found out that my compounder was getting a lot of calls from LDN users claiming that some not too agreeable side effects were being found with his last batch mixed with Acidophilus, so to keep harmony among us he is now mixing according to prior guidelines like using avicel or calcium carbonate instead, and just for those who claim C.C. can be packed too hard I have seen a big airspace in the capsules ( about 1/8 inch anyway) that should preclude any packing problems, I just was wondering if no results means not properly configured for your body chemistry? I'm physically having trouble walking now, and that has never been the case before. So what do I do now, normally the IV steroid would be the way to stop the attack. But I keep reading posts that state that the steroid is not compatiable with LDN, granted I've never read that on the LDN website. One person mentioned that it lowers your immune system just like the ABC'R's medicines. I did ask my Neuro once and she stated that your white blood cound would go up and IV steroids. Our insurance requires that we use a mail order pharmacy for ongoing medications, and our doctor has always written one year scripts. He writes for a 90 day quantity, refillable four times. I have one refill left on my original 1 year script and have not had any trouble getting any of the refilles. We don't use any narcotics or other pain killers, but I wouldn't be surprised if the rules are a lot different for them... I hope he will again give me a prescription for a year. When I first got it the bottle said 2 refills left. So I called Dr. B's office. I asked Bill if I misunderstood that I was getting a years prescription. He said that that was the way that Irmat does the prescription. I think that Maybe Irmat would call Bill at Dr B's office every quarter to reneu the prescription. I am not sure about that but I am sure that I got a years prescription. Our initial consult in June of this year was $150, and we called back in 3 weeks with a progress report at no charge, then had another consult with him at 2 months of LDN for $75. At this point, he gave us a script for 4 months, and we do another consult in January, hopefully for the next 6 months worth. With everyone's postings, it looks like his prices are slowly going up and his time frames for consults aren't always the same. Of course, my son has done so well on it without any problems at all, maybe that is the reason for the differences. I did have to call him about a month ago when my son missed 3 doses by human error (read ex husband error here) and he started to have slight symptoms of numbness and tingling. I called to ask him to phone in 4.5 rather than the 3 he had been taking, and there was no charge for that. (He was unable to take the 4.5 because of stiffness and starting a new job and is going to try again over Christmas break from school, but his problems resolved as soon as he resumed the LDN.) Maybe we should all keep each other posted on our follow up consults with the doctors here, so we can compare the consistency of what is being done. Of course, if someone is having problems, they are going to be asked to report in sooner, right?
