At my local YMCA there is an olympic size pool and it is never heated above 83

degrees in winter. It has a large dome over the top with glass windows

surrounding it. I have to keep a steady move on to stay warm in only 83 degree

water. The upper air is only heated by the pool water temp. so it's COOOOOLD

when you get out of the water. They keep it this way because the swim team will

succumb(sp?) to exhaustion in water any hotter. They keep a thermometer in the

water so you can check the water temp daily. This is a plus for an MS'er like

me cause my MS is extremely heat sensitive. Been paralyzed many different times

due to heat. LDN has helped me tolerate the heat better though. You all just

come to boro, Arkansas for the winter and we'll keep the YMCA busier than

it already is. That pool holds many folks at one time. You can stay as many

hours as you want unless the swim team has a Swim meet or special practice and

those are announced ahead of time.

exercise. Unfortunately, I cannot take the cold temperature in the dressing

room after the workout. in the winter. Therefore, I will not take water

aerobics again until the fall season. I had the flu in 2000, and since that I

do take echinacea tablets 1 to 2 times a day, along with other supplements. I

refuse to get a flu shot, I do not believe in them, although my grandparents do.

began LDN in December 2003.

Dee,

Does the dressing room area have an electrical outlet anywhere close to where

you get dressed? If so you might could carry you a small personal electric

heater with you. You can get some small ones at Wal-Mart. Just a thought.
