Guest guest
Hey Guys, Google the statin drugs and read the side effects. I wonder if the nutriceuticals used very effectively to lower cholesterol would help with MS? If you do take statins, be sure to increase your CoQ 10 as they severely deplete that co-enzyme in the body. Robin Falkov
Guest guest
The dosage is much higher than that used for cholesterol control and poses a real hazard to your liver, as well as other body systems. Guest guest
I have been on this drug now for two months as my Dr. OKayed it. In Canada it's called Actos and is really expensive, I went out on a limb with this stuff as I am chronic progressive and don't have "attacks" anyway, but in an effort to limit the symptoms why not? Well so far no harm done but also no results,as to be expected. Guest guest
Actos is a medicine to help diabetics maintain blood sugar control... I am not aware of it having any use in managing MS, other than the obvious need to control blood sugar if diabetic. I don't remember the names of all of the statins, but Zocor is one of them. There are several, very similar in chemical makeup and action. Guest guest
Yes thankyou Kathy I was wondering if I should get in touch with them as I now have a new prescription from my Dr.he makes it up for three months at a time. I was thinking that if I could divide up this one prescription between pharmacys it would be interesting but maybe too much headaches. Heck I don't even know if that's possible. You are getting good results from there though right? Guest guest
My husband uses Actos for his diabetes; it has been very useful. However, it is not a statin drug and has nothing to do with cholesterol. Two entirely different drugs, not related at all. The statin he was taking to reduce his cholesterol made him so foggy headed and forgetful he finally quit taking it. Actually, he tried a couple of them with the same side effect. I also used Zocor for a while and gave it up because I am already stupid enough; I don't need a drug that makes me more forgetful... Guest guest
Hi Reg, Actually...not impressed so far with Dispensaries LTD. since they told me last Fri. that it would be ready by 4:30. Well we weren't able to p/u anyway and they are closed on weekends. We were prepping walls all weekend in our home and had friends over all day yesterday painting so didn't call them til this morning. It turns out they're naltrexone was out of date and still dont have any in. Was not impressed that they didn't call to tell me that cause we could have shown up Fri. They will call within the next 2 days and do have home delivery to our area of the city. My drug store is Shoppers and one of their pharmacists sent it to Dispensaries LTD. without asking my preference (so another mix up there). I will have them send it to Shoppers in Tara Losa shopping centre and have it couriered to ours Shoppers next time. Its just closer to home. Shoppers is generally more reliable. I will be using his services anyway. I never asked what you paid for your pills but I believe that it was cheap enuf.
