true hell - now open heart surgery

Maureen,

Yes I have had had heart surgery 2 times-at 17 and 23. At 6 I was dx'd with

a murmur but no one ever checked any further. They always said I wuld grow

out of it. At 17 I had a paralysis in my face-dx'd as Bell's sey(sp?).

The second time I got it my Dad took me to his dr. Was sent on to an

internest and dx'd immediately and sent to Children's Hospital Boston the

next day. My Dad would not allow a cath done(God only knows why). Things

were more complicated than they thougth since not all info was gathered.

Because of this after having 2 children and having chest pains I had to had

to go have the same surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Things are fine now

but culd face valve replacement surgery in the future. I have been left

with high blood pressure whichiswell controled after many switches in meds.

And that is my story,
