Guest guest
Hay Russ, I just passed the Multi-colored arm band idea to bank president friend "it sounds good to him". He told me to write letters to ask for sponsorship from companies like "Nike". I questioned"Coke?" I would talk to MS society but I don't want to pay professional fund raisers. I want all fund raised to go straight to research. CVS raised 20million for the Ellen show to feed the hungry. Which is great! I will gladly write the letter to ask for sponsorship maybe someone has an idea who to ask. Guest guest
I think the arm bands are a great idea but the MS Society has established " the MS color for the Ribbon as a Silver/white pearl irridescent. It is quite nice and is now associated with MS . They give out the ribbon pins at fundraisers , the MS Walk, and different affairs so the color, I believe should be consistent, not to confuse the general public. Multi-colored rainbow colors have been taken, those colors used by the gay community, if that is what you had in mind. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Hi, Joanne! I was recently approached by a lady and I think she posts here about the possibility of doing something like this. I believe she told me that Tommy Hillfiger had a family member with MS, but I haven't had the time to follow up on it and find out. IF this is true, that would be an excellent sponsorship. My question is this...It's one thing to get someone to sponsor MS bracelets or pins or whatever, but how would we get them to put the funding towards LDN research unless they had first hand knowledge of what it can do? We would have to be very organized in our approach, don't you think? Maybe we could all brainstorm on this and see what we could come up with! Also, I have another question regarding the LDN Research Trust in the UK...These people are movers and shakers, and seem to have it really going on. My husband and I have offered some of our artwork for sale on Ebay with proceeds to go to the research trust, but I don't have alot of nice green cash to give to them. Does anyone know exactly what the research in the UK will mean to us here? Are any of you participating in this? Just anxious to hear your input. Take care, and have a great weekend! Guest guest
HI Kim, thanks for the imput brainstorming is what we need do. Kim my husband is sending me the name of a web site where the research is to heal the damage MS causes. LDN is great! From personal experience. Yet I believe we are on the forefront of a cure for MS. I know there are folks here looking for relief from more than MS. I plan to pitch my fund raising idea to other groups also. It started here. I hope it does not end until we have millions of dollars for MS research. -----Original Message-----From: petessweetheart [mailto:petessweetheart@...]Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2004 9:30 AMlow dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: multi-colored arm bandsHi, Joanne! I think it is very unfair that, if you are rich and/or famous, you can get the illegal drugs that help MS. Because of that, I am no longer a Montel fan. How about Terri Garr (Young enstein) or Landers (Squiggy)?Peace!VCL> ATTACHMENT part 2 message/rfc822 From: "Joanne Longley" Subject: RE: [low dose naltrexone] multi-colored arm bandsDate: Sun, 5 Dec 2004 15:26:04 +0000 Good idea Montel has MS very good idea! Now, all we need is a sponser that will get some press.Russ:))We needa Lance Armstrong to raise funds for MS research. Lance recentlybrought-in15 million for cancer research with the sale of yellow arm bands onedollaran arm band. We could sell multi-colored arm bands to raise funds forMSresearch. Nike produced the bands we need an organization to sponsorus or agroup of them. Not sure why I am telling you this just an idea.
