Mercury Fillings: They're Not Risky

My opinion: Just to be on the safe side, why put one of the most toxic elements on the earth a couple of inches away from the brain when there is a much better alternative? Composite fillings match the natural tooth coloir and don't contain the toxic elements. A dentist has to dispose of leftover mercury amalgams as 'Hazardous Waste'. Why if it is so safe? Could it be that acknowledgment of possible danger could open up a class action lawsuit ?

I feel better having it out of my mouth and will not have it put in ever again. My childhood dentist quit using it some years back. He could never say what made him change his mind about it's use. I think it was a good decision, just in case!

Larry,

As far as wisdom tooth sites. If the entire peridontal (sp?) ligament is not removed, it can lead to what is called cavitations. Most dentists act like they don't even know about such a thing, but it can create problems as the ligament deteriorates the jaw bone does too. In a nutshell. (I know that is over-simplified!)
