Hi all,

Hope everyone had a nice holiday. We sure were kept busy with all the kids

home. Feel so guilty for deleting so many posts before the holidays. Just

couldn't keep up with everything. I will have to follow along now to see

what has been happening. Seth is doing good, and GROWING!!! My little guy

is putting on the weight now that he is eating so well. LOL Have three

meetings this week about keeping Seth in preschool another year. The battle

goes on. I know Seth will win it and stay in his class, because it is the

only appropriate place for him. I'm struggling to stay unemotional and

polite with all the know-it-alls that have never even seen Seth. Margaret,

sorry we didn't get together last week. Would love to see you, and

Gareth again. That would be great if you could move closer to your family!

Maybe we could have a monthly lunch date or something. Well, I will just

have to read the new posts and see what I have missed. Hope everyone has a

calm, peaceful and happy January!

Gail

UGH!!!! Gail, this is so hard. I had this with Maddie while trying to get

her into MM. I actually spouted that out to the TWO people who were arguing

placement. You'll get it!! Hang in there.

Thanks Donna. I will fight to the end, and if he doesn't get it, he will

stay home next year. Don't you think that is segregation to put all sever

kids in one room? I'm going to fight dirty if they force me. Age

discrimination, segregation, developmentally appropriate placement. What

ever it takes I guess.

I read your post about your busy Christmas. Bet you needed a good rest when

the party was over! LOL Forgot how you said Maddie did. Seth was oblivious

to everything. Looked like such a little man in his suit though! LOL

Thanks for the support Donna.

Gail and I were discussing Seth's schooling . My response in

particular was about the fact that it is so very difficult as parents to

watch administraters and educators making decisions about the kind of

placement and services our children require when they've never met our kids.

At Maddie's IEP with the school district, there were 12 people at the table

and two were arguing with us about her placement. They also happened to be

the ONLY two people in the room who had never met Maddie.

hi,

Oh okay, you all were discussing Seth's school. Yea it is I guess difficult

to watch administrators and educations on making decissions on how to teach

the child, and where to place them at. I think that you need to place them

where the child belongs, and you might have to tell them (the parents) why

the child wasn't in the normal classrooms when the child was younger, or how

come they have all these special services provided for them and not to the

other children. I kind of understood why I was in special classes though

public schooling.
