My wife is currently doing 10 days on, 2 days off. She has only been

on it for 12 days, but no ill effects so far from the two days off.

I believe the doctor in the UK recommends 10/2. Not sure about New York.

Dr Bihari recommends no breaks of LDN use unless you need to have surgery or use

a narcotic for a lengthy period after surgery. I have only missed 2 capsules

the whole 1 1/2 years I've been on LDN. The doctor in the UK likes breaks. I

say why mess up a good thing if all is going well. If all isn't going well, a

day or 2 break might be needed or a closer look at your compounding pharmacy to

see if they are compounding correctly.

I have tried to take a break about three times now in the thirteen months that I have been taking LDN, once because I fell asleep and didn't wake up in time to meet my four o-clock deadline so I thought why not make a break of it huh?

Well each time I lost a little more ground. Up until then I was quite stable not loosing at all but not getting better either!Except for the first few weeks of wonderful happenings, there was no other good news.

I have to believe that not everyone has to take a break from LDN,and also it is quite detrimental to me to take a break, so I now get my new prescription filled about two weeks in advance so that there is no possibility of going on a break now or ever again.

(Hey I am retired and have no one to blame but me if I don't make an appointment to see my family doctor in time!)

But of course that is just me and in no way implys that you will be the same.

Reg.SPMS or Chronic Progressive since 1996.

I say that as no one can tell me which I am!

To all,

I never take a day off. For ninty days 4.5 mgs daily. Don't plan to take time off. If I need LDN, I hope to take LDN always. I try not to ever dwell on possible side effects.

I am very conserned with the possibility of any drug having effects I am a realist. Good Luck! Joanne L.

I think most of our group does not take a break. I do reduce the dosage, but don't take any days off.

I am just approaching my first 14 days on 3mg of LDN. I have read about the practice of taking a two or four day pause in taking LDN, some say 14 days ON and 2 days OFF while others advocate 28 days ON and four days OFF.Can anyone clarify which is best or when either should be used?Looking forward to the New Year with optopmism for once!Regards,Iain
