Guest guest
As many of you may know, I posted on here last week with a question regarding my son's upcoming gallbladder surgery and whether he would need to stop the LDN or not. His gallbladder is totally non functioning, and it has to be removed, as it is dangerous (gangrene) to leave it as it is. The surgery is scheduled for next Monday. He will be out of school for 2 weeks for the holidays, so this is a good thing. Anyway, the surgeon said that there was no need for him to hold off on taking his LDN. He said the dosage was too small to affect any pain medications that he may need, and since they have intentions of doing the bandaid surgery, there should be minimal pain involved. But he said that even if there were pain involved, it shouldn't be any problem at all at that small dosage of LDN. So, we're breathing a bit easier. Just thought I would let you know, since you guys have helped me so much with my questions and sometimes with just my insanity! Take care, and happy holidays to all! Guest guest
Thanks for letting us know. I am so glad you have a surgeon that is willing to work with you on this and allow your son to continue his LDN! Way to go mom!!! Sending the best, warmest thoughts your way on your boy's good luck with the procedure, and a speedy and full recovery. Not the best way to spend your Christmas vacation, but it will be worth it if all is good after. Regards - Cinders

Guest guest
Thank you, Cinders. You know what the nicest thing about all of this is? This surgeon is the first doctor we have talked to about LDN face to face who did not act as if we had 3 heads sprouting on our shoulders. Ironically, in his practice of surgery alone, LDN is not a threat to him in any way. He was adamant that we certainly did not want him to miss a dose, and that was pretty refreshing. Our last neuro told us he was " well versed " in LDN, then in the same breath told us it had to be administered via i.v. in a hospital setting. Hmmmmm...Could he have confused it with Novantrone??? Regardless, Run, Kim and Colby, run. I'll fill you all in after the surgery. Thanks again! Kim > > Thanks for letting us know. Guest guest
Kim, my cousin had laser gall bladder surgery and was up and about in 2 days. Have you looked into this? It may be easier on Coby with the laser. Kiki
Guest guest
Hey, Kiki. Maybe that was for gall stones??? They blasted them? It's called lithotripsy. He doesn't have stones, his gall bladder is just hardened itself and more or less a dead organ, so it has to come out. There will be 3 tiny abdominal incicions the size of the end of a pencil and one larger upper abdomen incision that can be covered with a regular size bandaid. They said as long as he didn't lift anything, he should be back to normal in a day or so. Thanks, though. I'm just glad he can take his LDN. I think that was scaring me more than anything. I will keep you guys posted! Take care! Kim > Kim, my cousin had laser gall bladder surgery and was up and about in 2 > days. Have you looked into this? It may be easier on Coby with the laser. Guest guest
You're welcome, Reg. I will also post after the surgery and let you guys know how he does with the pain meds and what he is given. I just think it's important that we all keep each other informed of anything we learn along this road we're traveling! Take care!
