Guest guest
We read in the local paper today of a group of disabled persons who are going to the winter special olympics in Alaska. One of the athletes is an 18 year old Down syndrome girl. She was shown on TV coming down the hill and through the slalom gates. She competes in downhill, slalom, and giant slalom. Will be graduating this year right on schedule. Looking back, when this girl was born, Dottie was on the down syndrome hotline and counseled the parents. The father was refusing to have the baby come home, would not hold the child, etc. Dottie convinced the parents to give it a try. Looks like she gave the right advice. Speaking of winter sports, we just reached the 140 inch mark for season snowfall here in Syracuse. I know I have shovelled as much.
