Guest guest
Hey there! I was turned onto LDN by some fellows on the Swank Diet Forum. I did my research and determined it was for me (as most people seem to do). I had already decided to release myself from Avonex, so having this as an alternative was wonderful! My Neuro (who rules by the way) was quick to prescribe it if it was something that I wanted to try. She has started me on 1.5 mg as my opening dose, but I really want to go to 3.0. What have you guys experienced as far the differences between such minor doses. I know that even though it is small, it still would be doubling the dose at this point. Any thoughts would rule, thanks guys!! Jon
Guest guest
The difference in such small doses is quite large actually, I am at 3.0mgs and moving up to 4.5 makes me to stiff to move my legs. Also going to 1.5 is like not taking it at all,..........it is a personal thing though. I believe starting at 1.5 is good if you have any doubts about your reaction to Naltrexone but once you know how you respond (hopefully you have no reaction at all) then start taking two instead of one at night. Then if after a week and if you are seeing no results,I say quickly move up to three at night at which point you have reached what is your ceiling but you should see results then if you havn't allready. Guest guest
Has anyone had more benefits from 3mg than 4.5 mg even though they could tolerate 4.5mg without any problem? I've been on 4.5mg for almost a year. I immediately noticed some improvement in bladder control but that was it. I'm thinking of switching to 3mg to see if it helps more. Could less be better? Guest guest
Hi Jon! You are very fortunate to have a Neuo prescribe for you as most of us here get looks from our Neuros like we are wacko! I started with 1.5 on Dec. 1,2004 (from my GP) and within a week went to 3mg. The only thing I noticed was increased stiffness in my legs and walking but that subsided within 2wks. My thinking is much clearer and slowly energy is returning. I hope to try 4.5 mgs this month but will reduce to 3mg if negative sideaffects. You are on the right track! Welcome to the group. Guest guest
Don't switch, it only stops the progression. Regards, Tom [low dose naltrexone] New here! Hey there! Guest guest
I got my ldn from Skip's w/ the instructions to take 1.5 mg for 1 mo. 3mg for 1 mo. then 4.5 mg rest of time. I took 1.5 mg for 5 days, the 3 mg for a week or so, and on to 4.5 mg for the last 7 wks. I saw my neuro today for the first time since my dx almost 3 months ago - he kept saying that he was amazed and very pleased with my recovery from all of the symptoms I had earlier. I didn't notice any immediate changes or side effects from one dosage to the next, just a gradual improvement. I'm glad I went quickly to 4.5 mg. --- In low dose naltrexone , " kloetus " <kloetus@y...> wrote: > > Hey there! I was turned onto LDN by some fellows on the Swank Diet > Forum.
