Guest guest
Yes, EAE's been cured many times (unlike MS), but this is kind of interesting, from the Journal of Experimental Medicine: http://www.jem.org/cgi/content/abstract/200/12/1667 Flavonoids Influence Monocytic GTPase Activity and Are Protective in Experimental Allergic Encephalitis ......we treated rats sensitized for acute and chronic experimental allergic encephalomyelitis, an experimental model of MS, with flavonoids. We demonstrated that the flavonoid luteolin substantially suppressed clinical symptoms and prevented relapse when administered either before or after disease onset.....Oral administration of luteolin also significantly reduced clinical symptoms. See here for another paper by the same author: http://tinyurl.com/5e89t Luteolin apparently inhibits production of nitric oxide, which is a mechanism several other recent investigational therapies are pursuing (inosine/uric acid, ferulic acid). Most supplements on the market that I've seen have a small amount of the stuff--3 to 4 mg. I found one that has a lot--100 mg, but it's expensive: http:/www.lutimax.com I am not recommending this in any way, simply passing along what I've found in the last hour or two. Caveat emptor!
