Hi ,

Like you, I'm starting to notice the same issue. I thought those around me were

going deaf for bit! This problem is particularly difficult when driving, as

well. Will be researching and will definitely share whatever I find.

you have no clue what I'm talking about, I basically mean one of those little

battery powered speakers that you can put on your person & then wear a little

headset mic to amplify the volume of your voice.

major frustration that I can't project loud enough (due to various SMA-related

factors, like reduced lung capacity & weak diaphragm muscles) to be heard over

the background noise in busy environments. Not only does this keep me from fully

enjoying being out in some public places like bars/restaurants, but it's also

starting to be a problem as I go to more and more academic conferences and

research symposia where I need to be able to easily talk to people.

very interested to hear how you've tried to overcome them. If you don't use

voice amplifiers, have other tricks/workarounds worked for you?

Hey Patti,

I looked up the Chatter Vox, and it seems pretty cool. My only concern is the

microphone; aside from the fact that the headset it comes with isn't the most

streamlined/subtle I've seen, it seems like the part that wraps around the back

of your head might be a bit problematic if that's where your head makes contact

with your headrest. Is the default headset the one you use? If so, is this a

problem at all?

Also, I can't find any confirmation on the product's website, but it *looks*

like the headphone might use a normal 3.5mm plug. Is it? If so, that would be

mean you could probably use any microphone with it.

Actually you can put it around your neck and point the microphone from under

your chin toward your mouth. I did that at my wedding and I was all dressed up

and actually it looked pretty cool in the pictures.I have attached one of the

pictures. The chattervox has really improved my quality of life. If you have any

other questions feel free to e-mail me!

Patti
