Guest guest
When I took my van in for service today, I got into a conversation with one of the staff at the WC place and she was telling me that certain insurances were very difficult, if not impossible to get a claim processed through for equipment repair (such as a WC ramp if it was damaged in an accident). Some insurances insisted you take it to a place of their choosing and not necessarily a WC van repair place. She specifically mentioned AAA, State Farm and Farmer's Insurance as being difficult to work with. Does anyone have an insurance company that works well with our unique vehicles/needs? I am hoping to hear from someone who has had an accident with their van and how that process went. Thanks, Suzanne
Guest guest
I fortunately have yet to experience an accident so can't answer your question. As the sole owner and non-driver of my van to only policy I could get is through Progressive. Guest guest
 Hi* I have State Farm Ins. and haas full coverage on both my van and my equipment (ramp & EZLock) and I totaled my van when we hit a deer. Insurance paid for me to buy another van + labor to move ramp and lock to new van + extra $1,000.00 from the claim so far I LOVE STATE FARM!  Jodi & Juni Digital Scrapbook Artist & Service Dog  From: Suzanne <erinnesmom@...> ; sma@... Guest guest
American Family covers the extra cost of equipment on my van. My premium is higher, but it's worth it. ; sma@... Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, When I got my car insurance, recently, I told my agent that I needed it to cover the total amount of the price of the vehicle, which is very expensive as we know, as well as the equipment installed. The insurance company she provided who handled this as I wanted was Mercury. Besides this, I haven’t experienced and accident, and hope I won’t either! ;-) Hope this may be of help for you. Anyway, tell your agent what your needs are, so they can reach it for you.
