Guest guest
Julio Chojeda (Type 3, age 62, in Peru) is scheduled for the above procedures Thursday for a partial detached retina. He is most concerned about the one month after the surgery, during which time he is supposed to remain on his stomach in order for the procedure to work. Has anyone had experience with this or any other procedure in which you were supposed to be prone for an extended time? Any ideas? Also, according to a mutual friend, Julio has the money for the surgery, but it will require sacrificing batteries for his wheelchair. Does anyone have ideas for assistance in Peru? Julio is such a kindhearted man, working hard to earn his keep despite constant obstacles from having SMA in Peru (lack of technology, resources, etc). I know he wouldn't mind if I shared his email - juliocht@... - and he's on Skype, too. Please feel free to contact him directly with ideas and support. Prayers would be welcomed, too! Thanks for any help you might be able to provide! Helen
