Guest guest
I'm interested in hearing if Aricept has improved your brain functioning, this is a drug often given for Alzheimer's Disease and my Mom is on it. Not too long ago a huge expose was printed on Aricept, saying it was far too expensive for the small benefits or was it the small # it benefitted? Anyway, we took Mom off it and within 2 weeks thought she was worse. So she went right back on it. And steroids! hahaha. They actually put me on an IV drip for 5 days when I was first diagnosed: 1,000 mg of Prednisolone per day. I was flying, let me tell you! It didn't do a thing for me except make my walking worse and the withdrawal was tough. I had to be on an ulcer preventing drug in order to keep it from eating out my stomach--yes, really! Prednisone is a standard issue drug for autoimmune diseases, but if LDN is working, (which tunes up your immune system--makes it work better), then why take a drug that does the opposite? (Shuts down your immune system.) My sister was on Prednisone for 2 years for autoimmune liver disease--she had 27 separate side effects, from bone deterioration to major mess up of her hormones, resulting in a hysterectomy. She also had nail fungus, weight gain--see...and I haven't even hit 5 symptoms yet! BUT.....it saved her life at the time! I'm still trying to catch up on old daily digests--I've worked from Dec. 21 thru today, but I still have to go back and read Dec. 15 - 21! Christmas sort of ran away with me this year--that and the community theatre production I was involved in-- it's nice to be back--I've missed everyone!
