Mason and Prednisone

Well, I think I was very stressed yesterday morning when I typed the email

to you all and apparently too impatient.

After giving Mason the Prednisone, within two hours he was feeling back to

his normal little self. As a matter of fact, I think I sat there in

amazement for atleast an hour just watching him play. Mason has been

dealing with fevers since early 2003 ... and this is the first time we've

ever given him Prednisone as was recommended by NIH. I was completely in

awe that a drug can take how awful he was feeling away in a matter of a

couple hours and gave me back my happy little boy.

When my husband returned home from work, he just couldn't believe it. He

said " Are you sure he was sick with fever? " And I couldn't even be upset

by the dumb question, because it truly was a significant change from what

he was like yesterday morning.

I am hoping and praying this was his last fever ... he generally only

fevers about once every 3 months now; however, normally gets symptoms

without the fevers much more often than that. But those fevers are what

are always so scary ... and to be honest, I hadn't seen him look so bad in

quite awhile and kinda freaked.

But thanks for letting me know your experience with the Prednisone.

Unfortunately, this is the only time we are allowed to use ... due to his

intestinal issues and his Surgeon asking that we not use it more than this

once. But what a miracle drug it is for these bizarre fevers.

Take care and thanks for letting me vent yesterday.

Hi Heidi,

I am glad to hear Mason is feeling better. It is

amazing when pred. actually works!

Best regards,
